The next meeting of the SCAP Collection Systems Committee will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Leucadia Wastewater District in Encinitas, CA.

 

The meeting will feature presentations on the effectiveness of CCTV technology and nozzle applications for calcium removal.

The SCAP wastewater pretreatment committee will conduct its quarterly meeting at IEUA featuring a presentation by Barbara Sharatz from the city of San Diego. Her presentation is entitled "Local Limits - Methodology, Issues and Alternatives".

The October  meeting of the SCAP Air Committee will be held at the offices of LACSD in Whittier, CA

CASA and SCAP are cosponsoring a Biogas Summit that will feature presentations by Southern CA  POTWs to discuss opportunities to utilize biogas as a renewable energy source.

The monthly meeting of Tri-TAC will be held at the Boy Scouts Council in San Leandro

CWEA will be aponsoring a meeting made up of represntatives from the private and public sector to discuss the problem of Non-Dispersible Wipes in our sewage system.

The July 16th meeting of the Air quality Committee will be held at the offices of the LACSD in Whittier.

CASA Summer Conference will be in San Diego

The SCAP Wastewater Pretreatment committee will meet on September 10th at the offices of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency in Chino.

The US Water Alliance is sponsoring its annual One Water Leadership Alliance.

As a focal point for the national dialogue on resource recovery and green infrastructure, this Leadership Summit has been driving the notion of water as an integrating strategy for the urban environment.
 Spotlight Community panels, including the City of Atlanta and others, will feature cross-agency, cross-department, community and business leaders to share their models of creative integration and innovative approaches.
 Multi-disciplinary and geographically diverse presentations will demonstrate the flexibility of green infrastructure to serve a multitude of needs.
 Strategic Sidebar conversations will allow those at the cutting edge to compare notes and tackle obstacles.
 Roundtable discussions will shed light on emerging opportunities and challenges.

The Energy Management Committee and the Biosolids Commitee will be meeting jointly at the offices of the Encina WA JPA in Carlsbad, CA to hear from the smaller POTWs about ways in  which to save energy and to learn about Encina's Biosolids program. A tour of Encina's facities will follow.

SCAP will be conducting a strategic planning session for its board members and committee chairs.

SCAP will be holding a meeting of its Wastewater Pretreatment Committee on Tuesday March 17th at the offices of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency.  The meeting will feature a presentation by Toby Jeng from enfoTech & Consulting, who will be discussing Electronic Reporting for Pretreatment Programs. RSVPs are required.

EPA is offering a free workshop on Climate Adaptation Training  scheduled for April 1st and 2nd in Los Angeles. Please see attached flyer for more information.

The SCAP Collection Systems Committee will be conducting a workshop on Asset Management Systems in cooperation with the Water Environment Research Federation (WERF) on Monday April 20th at the offices of the Orange County Sanitation District in Fountain Valley, CA.  RSVPs are required. The meeting will also include presentations by staff from OCSD, LACSD and the Leucadia WD.

The SCAP Biosolids Committee and Water Issues Committee will be holding a joint meeting in conjunction with the CASA Technical Advisory Workgroup at OCSD on May 14th.
